At this pub we had a true Catalonian experience with tapas and wine, here right in the middle of southern France. So France and Spain is not as homogenious as it might look like, neither culturally nor ethnically. It is similar to the Basque people who are also devided by Franch-Spanish border in the North-Eastern Basques in France and the South-Western Basques in Spain. Here you really experience the traditional Roussillon (Northern Catalonian in France) lifestyle, while being in a southern French region. Tinc Set Ancestral by Mas Candi is the kind of Pet Nat that you can bring to the evening reassured, you know that most people will love it. Also on the Balearic Islands they do speak Catalan for historic reasons.

So the Catalonian region is not devided culturally but by the French-Spanish border. But in 2006, Ramon Jané, his wife Mercè and his childhood friend Toni Carbo (who took over his family’s vines in 2012 to found La Salada estate), decided to vinify their own wines (a great idea!).
